Crenulation cleavage in quartz sericite schist, Bathurst, New Brunswick, Canada

I collected this rock undergound in the Caribou mine, during my dissertation mapping.  This type of structure was in the hinge zone of the major fold.  I like the shape of this specimen, and the way it reflects the interplay of schistosity and crenulation cleavage.  Furthermore, the discovery of this phase/style of deformation expanded my interpretations of the structural geological history of the Caribou mine area.
