<p>Groundwater moving through highly porous sandstone has locally produced exotic manganese-iron precipitations. &nbsp;Some of the material looks like pieces of pot-bellied iron stoves that have been reduced by sledge hammer work. &nbsp;Other pieces look like old brake shoes. &nbsp;This one, I must confess, has an amusement park look, …a corndog.</p> Whereabouts The late 90s, for me and my students, included some wonderful mapping and hiking in places like Sheets Gulch, and other locales, in southern Utah Age & Formation Navajo Sandstone of Jurassic Age
